Sport Pilot

A sport pilot license allows individuals to operate light-sport aircraft for recreational purposes, often with fewer training hours compared to a private pilot license. It’s ideal for those looking to fly for personal enjoyment, sightseeing, or short-distance travel within regulated limits.

Instrument Rating

An instrument rating allows pilots to fly in a wider range of weather conditions by enabling them to operate under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). This certification enhances pilot skill and safety by training them to navigate and control the aircraft solely by reference to instruments.

Private Pilot
Commercial Pilot

A private pilot license (PPL) allows individuals to fly aircraft for personal or recreational purposes, with more extensive training and fewer operational limitations than a sport pilot license. This license enables pilots to carry multiple passengers and fly at night, making it ideal for those seeking greater freedom and flexibility in general aviation.

A commercial pilot license (CPL) allows pilots to be compensated for their flying, opening career opportunities in fields like charter, aerial photography, and eventually airline transport. This license requires advanced training in flight maneuvers, navigation, and safety to meet the high standards of professional aviation.

Christian Webb CFI, CFII, MEI

Christian embarked on his aviation career just a few years ago, completing all his ratings—zero flight hours to a Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)—in a record time of only seven months. Shortly after graduating, he transitioned seamlessly into teaching, and he now brings many years and hundreds of hours of instructional experience to his students. Passionate about fostering safe and confident pilots, Christian joined us in May after instructing at another local flight school. His commitment to excellence is evident in his focus on high-quality training, leveraging the latest technology, and staying current with industry trends. Christian has quickly become a valued member of the Deep Sky team and is dedicated to helping our students achieve their full potential.
